The plant Arnica also known as mountain tobacco is a perennial plant with flowers that have yellow petals and an orange center and blooms in Europe, Siberia and North America. It is a perennial plant that reaches 20 to 60 cm. It has an upright stem, fluffy, not very branched. The leaves are ovate, in a basic rosette, spread above the ground. Head with vivid yellow color and large peripheral tongue flowers.

Arnica should only be used externally and should not be drank or used internally.

The herb has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It can be used for the treatment of bruises and sprains. The herb itself when used externally helps in relieving rheumatic pains, pain and inflammation of varicose veins and other similar diseases. It has also been used for snowballs, neurotic alopecia, insect bites, gingivitis and foot ulcers. Arnica is believed to improves joint function and help reduce joint pain. It can in fact be used in any case where there is pain or inflammation of the skin, as long as there are no abrasions and cuts in that area.

The herb is used externally in the form of tincture.

The tincture is made as follows:
Pour half a liter of 70% alcohol in 50 grams of dried flowers. Seal the mixture well in a transparent glass container and leave it for a week in the sun or in a hot place. Strain it and put it in a container that seals well. Store it in a dark and cool place.
