Description:

Savory has lilac tubular flowers which bloom in the northern hemisphere in spring and summer.
It grows to around 30 to 60 cm (0.98 to 1.97 ft) in height and has very slender, bronze-green leaves.
The aromas are reminiscent of oregano and thyme.
Savory is one of the favorite plants of the ancient Greeks and has been used in cooking for more than 2,000 years, while they used to flavor thyme wine with this herb.
It is used in cooking, while it is also used in the preparation of aromatic honey, liqueurs, toothpaste and soaps.

Therapeutic uses:

Savory is used as a decotion to improve the digestive system, acts against diarrhea, colic,toothache and sores in the mouth,
against dizziness, intestinal cramps, bloating and opens up the appetite.
It can improve the respiratory system as it softens the cough, helps with bronchitis, asthma and is expectorant.

Making tea:

Pour in one teaspoon of dry herb in a cup of boiling water and cover for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain, sweeten (with honey) and drink up to three times a day.
