All varieties of peppers - black, green and white – comes from the same plant. The difference in color is due to the different harvest times and the treatment to which the grains are subjected.

More particularly : Black pepper comes from the fruit of Piper nigrum, which is exclusively cultivated for the production of spice.

White pepper also comes from the same plant that is produced and black.

Green pepper is the immature harvested green fruit of the Piper nigrum plant.

Pink pepper comes from the Schinus tereb tree is aromatic with a sweet, peppery taste and characteristic, exotic pink color that makes it indispensable in gourmet cuisine.

Allspice is the fruit of the tree, Pimenta dioica, of the same family as the pepper. It is traditionally grown in Mexico, Central America and in countries with a warm climate.
